GUIDED TOUR TO THE TOP OF
RENDALEN "SØLENTOPPEN"
You can reach the top!
We will take you on a guided hiking tour to the top of Rendalen. The mountain is called Sølen, and the summit will reward you with a amazing 360 degree view. You can look all the way to Sweden in the east, and Rondane in the west. On this tour we will give you the stories about the traces of human activity in the landscape dating back thousands of year.
Duration
- 22 km hike, 10 hours (depend on the shape of the participants and the weather)
- The first part of the hiking is relatively easy, while the final part from Skardtjønna (1250 m.a.s.l) and to the top is rocky and steep.
- You don`t have to be a mountain goat to complete this hiking! Every year the 13 year olds of Rendalen make it to the top!
Equipment
What to wear and bring:
- Hiking boots
- Wind and waterproof jacket
- Thick sweater
- Long underpants on a cold day
- Woollen top
- Hat and gloves
- Food and drinks. You should bring a minimun of 10 slices of bread, and 4 litres of water on a hot day.
- Sunglasses and sunscreen
Meeting information
Meeting time depends on the date of the tour. You find it at the booking page. Meeting point at Øiseth Hotell. From here I will show you the way to the starting point of the hiking. You have to drive your own car to the starting point of the hiking, 30 kilometres from Åkrestrømmen.
